With Enviro Hull being based in Saldanha Bay on the Western Cape, South Africa, one of our key advantages is our ideal geographical location on a major global shipping route. Combined with a shortage of compliant in-water capacity locally, this gives Enviro Hull a credible path into positioning ourselves as a leading gateway operator into the Asia-Pacific corridor, venturing into the wider fields of the Middle East and Europe.

Meet Enviro Hull

After many years in the international offshore oil and gas sector, Ashley, armed with a civil engineering and air/saturation diving background, held various positions from saturation diver, air dive superintendent, and assistant saturation dive supervisor, before onshore positions of site agent, rigging superintendent, and project manager on marine and inland civil engineering and construction projects in the Western Cape.

Ashley founded Enviro Hull in 2021 under joint directorship. He subsequently restarted Enviro Hull Pty Ltd, operating as its owner and CEO, with the vision to build a viable ROV and AIR diving company starting in South Africa.

Many of Ashley’s previous clients have chosen to re-engage with him, as he now concentrates on underwater biofouling management and long-term sustainable hull inspections and cleaning. As part of his restructuring strategy, he has gained a new and internationally experienced, wholly environmentally aligned partner. Ashley now leads business strategy, company development, and stakeholder engagement

Also with a civil engineering and air/saturation diving background, Michael became a technically qualified, time-served management executive in both the contracting and client company sides of the global offshore energy, oil, and gas business. Being a committee member of IMCA, he also gained membership of the Chartered Management Institute, and elevation to Fellowship of the Institute of Leadership and Management.

He is recognised for his strategic leadership and operational excellence, with complex high-end multimillion US$ projects under his belt. Two notable examples include saving 15+ million US$ losses in Azerbaijan, and avoiding projected losses exceeding 50 million US$ in China.

Michael’s consistent multi-cultural teams, with a safe 98% incident-free record, successfully delivered offshore projects on time and within budget. His recent appointment materially strengthens Enviro Hull’s operational capability and intended growth strategy.
